Puerto Chacabuco completed the largest cargo shipment in its history by serving the bulk carrier Aromo, which arrived at the pier of the port area to move more than 20,000 tons of zinc bound for China.

It is worth mentioning that the ship had moored a week ago at the Emporcha docks, however, it had to go on tour after only operating in two shifts due to bad weather conditions, which acted strongly in the Aysén Region for several days. . She subsequently resumed shipment of minerals during the third shift on Monday, March 13.

Under this context, the General Manager of Emporcha, Felipe Candia Araya, highlighted that "This milestone for our Puerto Chacabuco is very important, not only because it means the largest shipment made in the history of the port, but also because it confirms our permanent commitment to our territories and their economic development, as a strategic partner for the departure of products that the Aysén Region sends to the world”.

Likewise, the executive also appreciated the coordinated work between the different actors that were part of the shipping operation at the MN Aromo, including the inspection services, Emporcha's own personnel, workers and the shippers involved.

In line with the treaty, from Emporcha it was highlighted that Puerto Chacabuco transfers close to 400 thousand tons of cargo per year, mostly general cargo, also providing services to important economic sectors of the region, such as salmon, livestock, forestry and mining cargo.

Finally, the bulk carrier, which is now part of the history of the Aysen port, is registered under the Panamanian flag and its crew was Vietnamese. She is 180 meters long, 30 meters wide, was built in 2020 and has 37,927 deadweight tons.
