Unifeeder, a feeder specialist in northern Europe and part of the DP World group, entered for the first time to the American market with the launch in March of a new service that will connect the Dominican Republic with Puerto Rico and Haiti, says Alphaliner.
The new itinerary will call at Puerto Caucedo (Dominican Republic), Port-au-Prince (Haiti), San Juan (Puerto Rico) and returns to Caucedo.
It will be operated on a fixed day, weekly, using the "ELBRUNNER" (currently SEABOARD ATLANTIC) of 974 TEUs and the service will set sail from Caucedo starting on March 10.
It should be noted that P&O Maritime Logistics (POML), Unifeeder's sister company within the DP World group, already operates a Caucedo – Puerto Príncipe service that occasionally calls in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
This service uses the 210 TEU "TOPAZ NEVA", a shallow draft and shallow water vessel originally designed to transport modules for the offshore industry but later adapted to transport containers.
